Our Agreement with You

1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing and using The Vow, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree with any part of these terms, you must not use the service. The Vow reserves the right to modify these terms at any time without prior notice. Continued use of the service constitutes acceptance of revised terms.
2. Description of Service
The Vow is a web-based wedding planning application that allows users to organize guests, budgets, vendors, seating arrangements, timelines, and other wedding-related planning activities. The service is provided on an 'as-is' basis in both free and paid tiers.
3. User Accounts
3.1 Account Registration
To use The Vow, you must create an account by providing accurate and complete information. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and are liable for all activities that occur under your account.
3.2 Account Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old or have parental/guardian consent to use The Vow. By registering, you warrant that all information provided is true, accurate, and not misleading.
3.3 Prohibited Conduct
You agree not to:
- Use the service for unlawful purposes or in violation of any applicable laws
- Create multiple accounts to circumvent limitations or bypass restrictions
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the service or other users' accounts
- Upload, post, or transmit malicious code, viruses, or any harmful content
- Scrape, bulk download, or reproduce content without authorization
- Harass, threaten, or defame other users
- Spam or engage in deceptive or fraudulent behavior
4. User Content and Intellectual Property
4.1 Your Content
You retain all rights to content you create in The Vow (guest lists, budgets, vendor details, messages, etc.). By uploading or storing content in The Vow, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, store, and process your content solely to provide and improve the service.
4.2 Intellectual Property
All code, design, branding, and other intellectual property comprising The Vow are owned by The Vow or its licensors. You may not reproduce, distribute, or transmit any of this content without our express written consent.
4.3 Third-Party Content
The Vow may include third-party content, libraries, and integrations (such as PayPal). Use of such content is governed by their respective licenses and terms.
5. Payment and Billing
5.1 Paid Plans
The Vow offers optional paid plans for additional features.
5.2 Payment Processing
All payments are processed through PayPal. You agree to provide accurate and complete payment information. The Vow is not responsible for failed transactions caused by invalid payment details, insufficient funds, or issues with your payment provider.
5.3 Refund Policy
Subscription fees are non-refundable except as required by law. For disputes or billing inquiries, please contact us at billing@the-vow.it.
6. Automatic Wedding Archiving
6.1 Archiving on Expiry
The Vow automatically archives a wedding the day after its stated wedding date. Archiving means the wedding is set to read-only status. No planning data is deleted.
6.2 Effect of Archiving
When a wedding is archived:
- All planning data (guests, tasks, budget, vendors, etc.) remains saved and can be viewed in read-only mode.
- The public Save the Date page is automatically unpublished and is no longer accessible to guests.
- The public wishlist link is deactivated.
- All wedding members receive an email notification informing them of the archiving.
6.3 Notification
All members listed on the wedding will receive an automated email notification on the day the wedding is archived. It is your responsibility to ensure that the registered email addresses of all members are up to date.
7. Data and Account Deletion
7.1 Account Termination
You may delete your account at any time through your account settings. Upon deletion, we will remove your personal data within 30 days, except where retention is required for legal or financial compliance.
7.2 Data Preservation
The Vow is not responsible for recovery of deleted data. We recommend exporting or backing up important information before deleting your account.
7.3 Termination by Us
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account for violation of these Terms, non-payment, or at our discretion. In the event of termination, we will make reasonable efforts to allow you to retrieve your data.
8. Limitation of Liability
The Vow is provided on an 'as-is' basis without warranties of any kind. The Vow disclaims all express and implied warranties, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, The Vow shall not be liable for:
- Indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages
- Loss of data, profits, or business opportunities
- Service interruptions or unavailability
- Issues arising from third-party services (such as PayPal)
9. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless The Vow, its officers, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, costs, or expenses arising from your use of the service, violation of these Terms, or infringement of third-party rights.
10. External Links and Third-Party Services
The Vow may contain links to external websites or integrations with third-party services (such as PayPal). We are not responsible for the content, policies, or practices of these external services. Your use of third-party services is governed by their respective terms and privacy policies.
11. Restrictions on Use
You agree not to:
- Reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to derive the source code of The Vow
- Remove or alter any proprietary notices or labels on the service
- Use the service to build competing products or services
- Create automated scripts or bots to access The Vow without permission
- Exceed reasonable usage limits or cause excessive load on the service
12. Dispute Resolution
12.1 Informal Resolution
In the event of a dispute, you agree to contact us at support@the-vow.it with details of the issue. We will make good-faith efforts to resolve the matter within 30 days.
12.2 Jurisdiction
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with applicable laws. Any legal proceedings shall be initiated in the courts of the relevant jurisdiction.
13. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect, and the invalid provision shall be modified to the minimum extent necessary to make it valid.
14. Entire Agreement
These Terms of Service, together with the Privacy Policy and any other policies published on The Vow, constitute the entire agreement between you and The Vow regarding the service. Any prior negotiations, understandings, or agreements are superseded by these Terms.
15. Survival
Sections regarding intellectual property, limitation of liability, indemnification, and dispute resolution shall survive termination or expiration of these Terms.
